We offer
a unique motel to stay, as we are located right on the I-35
highway. This lets you step off a main artery in Minnesota
for a chance to simply stay the night on your journey or
stay a while and enjoy the wonders that are offered in our
rural setting. Many
trail users know about us having the trails lead right up to
our door for a convenient place to launch into the fabulous
'Northwoods.' Barnum has long touted the town being
the "Gateway to the Northwoods" and for good reason. ATVers,
snomobilers, bikers, hikers and agate hounds can really appreciate
our location. When lodging gets filled up in Cloquet motels
with large gatherings or Duluth motels fill up with Grandma's
Marathon hosting the nation, we are an excellent
solution for a place to stay.
Minnesota is famous for having all
four seasons in full glory. Summer lakes full of fish,
Munger Trail being the longest paved rails to trails path, Soo
Line grades now being maintained by local organizations. Fall
has a full bouquet of colors because of the Maple & Oaks common
in our area. Winter is one of the best for snowmobiling, cross
country skiing, and snowshoeing. Spring is recognized by our
town of Barnum with 'Spring Fever Days' as a celebration of life
renewed. Annual festivals being hosted in every town of the area
are just some of the reasons for recreating and discovering life
at it's finest.
Artisans are located throughout our
area creating works of art. You'll enjoy visiting some of the
local shops filled with their work. A major event is the
'Autumn Winds Tour' where our local artisans open their studio
doors to the public. You'll want to stay a while to fully enjoy
this event. 'Art in the Park' happens in conjunction
with 'Agate Days' which are world renowned.
